New Era in Imports of Dairy, Aquatic Products, Gelatin, and Collagen: Starting January 1, 2026
On May 29, 2025, the İzmir Border Control Point Directorate of the General Directorate of Food Control (Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry) announced a new timeline for imports. According to the notice, imports of dairy products, aquatic products, gelatin, and collagen will be permitted beginning January 1, 2026.
•    From that date, import authorization conditions will apply.
•    Approval procedures for trade partners will also be activated, with exporting countries expected to be informed in advance.
•    Importers are advised to align their planning with the 2026 start date and ensure that foreign suppliers complete approval processes on time.
This marks a significant regulatory shift, requiring companies to prepare early to avoid delays once the new system takes effect.
