The Communiqué No. 2025-32/72 amending the Communiqué on Decision No. 32 Regarding the Protection of the Value of Turkish Currency was published in the Official Gazette dated 06.03.2025 and numbered 32833, entering into force on the same date.
What Changed?
- The new regulation introduces significant flexibility for movable property sales contracts concluded between residents in Türkiye.
- Except for vehicle sales contracts, the contract price in movable property sales contracts may now be determined in foreign currency or indexed to foreign currency.
- Other payment obligations arising from such contracts may also be agreed in foreign currency or indexed to foreign currency.
- The previous rule requiring payments to be made and accepted in Turkish lira has been repealed within this scope.
Effective Date
The Communiqué entered into force on its publication date.
