Customs General Communiqué (Tariff–Classification Decisions) Amended: Two Entries Removed from Series No. 18
The Customs General Communiqué (Tariff–Classification Decisions) (Series No: 18) has been amended. With the new regulation, entries 15 and 82 in the annex have been repealed. This means that previous tariff-classification decisions for these two products are no longer listed in the annex.
•    Entry 15: Concerned wet wipes containing oils and various components, used for makeup removal and skin cleansing, previously classified under 3304.99.00.
•    Entry 82: Related to “LED strips” containing LEDs and electronic components, previously classified under 9405.40.99 as “finished lighting equipment.”
With these entries removed, companies can no longer rely on them as a basis for GTIP classification. Instead, classification must be reassessed according to current legislation, product specifications, and binding tariff information (BTI) practices.
For importers, this update underscores the importance of reviewing product definitions and technical documentation to manage GTIP risks and, if necessary, initiating BTI procedures.
