A New Era in Customs Amendment Procedures: Pilot Application Launched in Ankara and Esenboğa
08 Aralık 2025A New Era in Customs Amendment Procedures: Pilot Application Launched in Ankara and Esenboğa
A new pilot application has been introduced to carry out amendment procedures in customs declarations more quickly and in a more controlled manner. Announced through a circular dated December 8, 2025, this system has initially been launched at the Ankara and Esenboğa Customs Directorates.
Within the scope of the new application, the process for amendment procedures to be carried out specifically for declarations under regime code 1000, which covers exports, in the Detailed Declaration module of the BILGE System has been updated to enable digital tracking.
How will the pilot application work?
Under the new workflow, when operators wish to submit an amendment, the following steps apply.
The operator will communicate the correction information to the customs administration by adding a new line item to the declaration or making changes to existing line items. The examination officer will review the correction request through the system and, if deemed appropriate, will grant the operator permission to proceed with the correction. Following this permission, the operator will be notified through the Operator Feedback System within the Operator Registration and Tracking System. The operator will then update the data fields and resubmit to the system. In the final step, the examination officer will review the changes and, if found appropriate, approve the amendment procedure, or may reject it if not found appropriate.
An important point to note
In this system, the data correction action by the operator can be performed a maximum of one time. It is therefore critically important that all information is prepared completely and accurately before the correction is submitted.
This pilot application aims to reduce the volume of written correspondence in amendment procedures, thereby both accelerating processes and strengthening the oversight role of the examination officer
