Issues with Documents Uploaded to TAREKS for Transit Shipments: The T2 Transit Accompanying Document May Not Be Accepted
13 Ekim 2025Issues with Documents Uploaded to TAREKS (Foreign Trade Product Safety and Inspection System) for Transit Shipments: The T2 Transit Accompanying Document May Not Be Accepted
Which documents must be uploaded to TAREKS during transit shipments has become one of the most problematic issues in day-to-day practice. In an information letter submitted to the Ministry of Trade by the Ankara Customs Brokers Association on October 13, 2025, it was stated that despite the Transit Accompanying Document, referred to as T2, being uploaded for products selected for physical inspection, the document is in some cases not being accepted during controls, causing delays in procedures.
The problem encountered in practice can be summarized as follows. Although the T2 document is among the documents required for products selected for physical inspection in conformity assessments conducted through TAREKS, cases have been observed at certain units where the T2 is not recognized as a transport document on the grounds that it does not appear in their records, resulting in applications failing to progress. This translates into lost time, waiting periods, and additional costs for companies.
However, transit accompanying documents are official documents generated electronically through the New Computerised Transit System, known as NCTS, and approved by the office of departure. Despite this, confusion with transport documents such as CMR and CIM, or incorrect assessments, can cause the process to stall.
To prevent such delays, it is of great importance that transit documents are correctly understood in TAREKS procedures and that uniform application is ensured in the field. Particularly for goods arriving under transit that are selected for physical inspection, it has become critical not only that the document is uploaded correctly but also that it is accepted as such by the inspection authority.
